In my work I mainly use two artistic languages: drawing and photography. In the center of the (artistic) research I position the representation of the human figure/body and the interaction with its surrounding, or "background".

In the drawings portrayed bodies or its parts are represented: the abdomen, hips and thighs, which are often bent, in tension and "red" because of fatigue. Faces remain unknown, since the facial traits are irrelevant and superficial in this context. Where the no-face void would be, splashes, colors or different forms appear. This enables a fusion of the represented figures with the substances in their immediate area, that consist of vegetation, architectonic or just color fields.

While in my photographs the body interacts and becomes a part of its surrounding that is understood as a field of intimacy. With this the portrayed person is transformed from a subject in to a object.

With the series of photographs-portraits I wanted to create a space of reflection on the topic of "being inside" and "being outside". And thus question the “structure” of intimacy and its boundaries. The subjects portrayed have the status of "urban mavericks". They are objectified by the community. In this sense, they are always "faceless". They have almost the status of a mythological creature, archetype from forgotten fairy tales. This is why photographing their face from a close range becomes my act of their subjectivation.  Returning their faces into the community equals dragging them from the patterns of social exclusion in which they are/were immersed.

Collages represent the in-between path of the above mentioned techniques. Is a   iconic language of the dialogue between drawing and photography.
